The WED is celebrated worldwide every 4th of March of each year since 2020.  This day highlights engineering and engineers’ achievements and contributions to sustainable development and modern life.

The World Engineering Day 2022 (WED2022) will be celebrated around the world with the theme “Build Back Wiser Engineering the Future”.   As part of its contributions to the global celebrations, PTC, being the Philippine National Member of WFEO, will be holding a webinar with the theme “Regional Partnerships Unlocked: Harnessing the Value of Engineering Mobility” on March 25, 2022, Friday, at 1:30 PM (PH time) via Zoom. 

The Webinar intends to discuss challenges, as well as, the opportunities and imperatives in harnessing the most value from enhanced engineering mobility within the various regional partnerships currently in place among economies within Asia and the Pacific.  It is anticipated that engineering professionals and engineering educational institutions representatives in the country and across the globe will participate in this very timely forum.  

We have invited speakers from the Department of Trade and Industry and other bodies to discuss the promotion of trade in services in the various regional trade agreements and economic partnerships, particularly the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) for Filipino engineers practicing locally and internationally. We also have speakers from the ASEAN Engineering Register, the APEC Engineer Register and the International Professional Engineers Agreement to speak on engineering mobility and benchmarking of professional practice.
