During the recent trilateral cooperation among the Council of Engineers of Thailand (COET), Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), and Philippine Technological Council (PTC), the three parties agreed in principle to organize a Capacity Building Workshop and Capstone Design Project Competition, bringing together participating teams from the three economies.
The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration in engineering education, promote innovation and teamwork, and provide engineering students with opportunities to engage in an international professional environment.
As part of the International Conference 2026, “Engineering Education and Professional Without Borders: From Classroom to Global Practice in an Innovative and Sustainable Future,” held on 18 September 2026 at the Council of Engineers of Thailand in Bangkok, the Capstone Design Project initiative provided a platform for participating teams to present their projects and receive professional feedback.
🇵🇭 The Philippines proudly celebrates the achievement of the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), which garnered First Place in the Capstone Design Project Competition and received a prize of THB 30,000.
The TIP delegation was headed by Dr. Rosalinda A. Valdepeñas, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with Dr. Felizardo Reyes Jr., Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Marianne Yumul, Dean of the College of Engineering.
The winning TIP student team was represented by Christian Gapas Bondoc, Gabriel Alberto Cabrera, and Angelo Peralta Base. Their achievement highlights the innovation, teamwork, and excellence of Philippine engineering students in an international setting.
Batangas State University, The National Engineering University (BatStateU), led by Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, University President, also actively participated in the activity as one of the speakers. Representing BatStateU were Engr. Reggie A. Dueñas, Faculty, together with students Nikko Lemon N. Mariano and Jhiru G. Garcia.
The Philippine delegation was led by Philippine Technological Council President Engr. Federico A. Monsada and Dr. May Rose Imperial, Engineering Accreditation Commission Chair, together with representatives from TIP and BatStateU.
This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of PTC, COET, and ABEEK to advancing engineering education, accreditation, innovation, and professional development through international cooperation.
