Requesting for Accreditation
HEI wishing to submit its engineering programs for accreditation under PTC’s Certification and Accreditation System for Engineering Education (PTC CASEE) should first contact the PTC Executive Directorate Office (EDO). EDO will provide official access to necessary documentation on procedures and the table of application fees.
Prior to making the formal request for accreditation, HEI must ensure that the programs meet the eligibility criteria.
a) HEI requesting accreditation of its programs must undertake the following as part of the initial accreditation request process:
• Accomplish the Self-Tiering Assessment Report (STAR) providing therefor sufficient information demonstrating that the HEI meet the requirements of the Tier to which it may be classified. Please refer to the Tier Classification System for details. A HEI which has submitted its STAR previously may wish to provide updated relevant information.
b) The RFE and the STAR must be submitted to the PTC Executive Directorate Office (PTC EDO) on or before July 31 but not later than 150 days before the start of the earliest accreditation review visit dates requested by the HEI.
c) Within 60 days from receipt of the complete RFE and the STAR from the HEI, and after the evaluation, PTC ACBET shall advise the HEI of the following, among other information:
• Submission requirements for the Self-Study Report (SSR), and
• Available schedule for accreditation review visit
d) HEI must advise PTC ACBET of its decision to proceed with the request for accreditation as soon as it receives the above information, but no later than 15 days from receipt thereof.
