The Philippine Technological Council, the WFEO National Member representing the Philippines, would like to congratulate the Batangas State University and Team WONDERPETS for winning this year’s World Engineering Day Hackathon.
World Engineering Day or WED is celebrated every March 4 all over the world since 2020 to celebrate and highlights engineering and engineers’ achievements and contribution to sustainable development and modern life. It was proclaimed by the UNESCO during its 40th General Conference in 2019 upon the representation of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO)
Team WONDERPETS is composed of BatStateU Chemical Engineering students Ghia Luwalhati, Nicole Elizabeth Tan and Reaner Jacqueline Bool and their mentor, Dr. Reymark Maalihan of the Material Testing and Calibration Center (MTCC).
WONDERPETS stands for Water remediatiON using metal-organic framework DERived from PET bottleS.
